By Metric Maniacs
The Metric Maniacs track bike conversion series continues! In part 1 , we began dismantling the front end of a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 by replacing worn stem bearings to improve steering responsiveness. Now in part 2 , we’re rebuilding the front forks with fresh seals to optimize suspension performance.
In this technical DIY video, we fully disassemble the Ninja 400’s front forks, show you step-by-step how to properly replace the fork seals and bushings, then reassemble everything to significantly improve front end handling. Upgrading your suspension is crucial when converting a street bike into a track-ready race machine.
Transforming this lightweight 400cc sportbike into a corner-carving monster takes work - but we show you how to rebuild your forks in a few, simple steps. This suspension upgrade will give you the confidence and feel needed when pushing hard at the track.
